Waste Limitation Management and Recycling Design Challenge Educator Guide
This challenge involves middle school (5-8). The guide focuses on the need for water recycling as lunar habitations occur on the moon and Mars. The guide includes topics relating to the moon, Earth's water cycle and water recyling on Earth and the International Space Station. The guide prepares the students for the Waste Limitation Management and Recycling Design Challenge in which small teams design and test a protype system for recycling water on the moon. It is a standards-based classroom project that provides students the opportunity to investigate, create, test, evaluate a solution for a real-world problem.
